“Prayer” with Dr. R.C. Sproul (Various Teachers // Fellowship Hall) now – August 31
As Christians, we are given the privilege and responsibility of communicating with the Creator and Sustainer of the universe. Yet many Christians neglect prayer. The subject of its importance and, oftentimes, neglect, has recently come up in various ways at Fairview Church. During the summer sessions, we will watch and discuss Dr. R.C. Sproul’s teaching that intimate communication with God is at the heart of our relationship to Him. In addition, we will spend some of the sessions engaging in group prayer together. Leprosy, paralysis, and a bed-ridden fever: Three amazing but different works of healing show us important principles of Jesus’ work as the Redeemer. 2000 years later, we still face the effects of a broken world on our bodies. What unites these three stories and what makes them different both teach us lessons about Jesus. “Jesus Bore Our Diseases” (Matthew 8:1-17).
