The Minor Prophets  – led by Steve Lorah | Fellowship Hall   Now – June 28

So often in the Church we pay very little attention to the twelve books that make up the Minor Prophets. Without context, these books can be difficult to understand and, as a result, Christians frequently miss the deep, rich truths in this portion of Scripture. This class will not be an in-depth study of these books, but rather a historical overview of the group. We will seek to place context around each of these books to aid in future in-depth study and, ultimately, to gain a deeper understanding of the character of God as He reveals himself through His prophets.

Proverbs and Parables: Part I –  led by Stephen Hapach  |Kitchen    Now – June 28

The same Holy Spirit that prompted Solomon to tell riddles also inspired Jesus to tell stories. Proverbs speak to our minds, while parables speak to our hearts. As a group we will examine passages of both proverbs and parables, discussing and applying God’s unchanging wisdom to our lives.

United in Christ: Thriving in Marriage and Parenthood – led by  Jeff & Linda Lyden |Video Room  Now – June 28

This class is designed to encourage and strengthen new and young marriages by building a Christ-centered foundation that honors God. Together, we will seek His guidance on how to protect, nurture, and grow your marriage according to His purpose. Through prayer, biblical principles, and open discussion, we will explore topics such as guarding your relationship from outside influences, raising children in faith and unity, balancing family and work in a way that reflects God’s priorities, and developing financial unity through wise and faithful stewardship.

New Members Class – Led by Pastor Jeff Zehnder | Conference Room

For those interested in membership or exploring what Fairview Church is about.

2| Morning Worship |10:45am

Pastor Jeff will be preaching from Matthew 15:29-39 “Repetition is the Mother of Learning”

We see Jesus return to healing many (vv29-31) and feeding a multitude, this time 4,000 (vv32-39). Both of these are things Jesus has already done before. Why again? The same reason parents have to tell their children same lessons. (A) Apparently, disciples and readers to day need repeated reminders that even though Jesus continues to rise in apparent power and popularity, his main ministry of mercy to the needy still has not ceased – lame, blind, crippled, mute….’and Jesus healed them. The church today so quickly jettisons the Jesus of local, personal mercy for the ministry of power and domination. But Jesus loves the broken and needy. (B) Apparently, the church needs repeated reminders of Jesus’ supernatural ability to satisfy us (v37). He is the bread of life. (C) Repetition – many detach from church because in their mind, “I’ve already learned its main lessons”. Yet Jesus show us that we need regular reminders of things we might cognitively know but don’t experientially embrace.
