Our Mission and Vision…
Our Children’s Ministry partners with parents in fulfilling our covenant responsibility to the children of our church. We seek to glorify God by fostering in our covenant children a life-long love for God. We strive to instill in our covenant children the doctrines of the reformed faith and mentor them to live their faith practically in service to the church and community by developing their spiritual gifts. We want to guide our covenant children on how and why to worship God so they may fulfill their purpose in life. We prayerfully lift our covenant children before God to bring to completion His will for their lives.
It’s our vision that the covenant children of Fairview Church will grow to be communicant members of a Bible believing church and have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. It’s our goal that they will:
1. Learn to worship God with all their heart, soul, and mind.
2. Serve and minister to the body of believers and not as a place to receive only and be passive.
3. Fulfill their covenant responsibility to the next generation.
Children’s Ministry Director
Charity te Velde is the Children’s Ministry Director at Fairview Church. She was raised here at Fairview Church and values the family of believers. She went to Reformed Bible College (now Kuyper College) in Grand Rapids, Michigan where she received her Bachelor in Religious Education. She is also a graduate of Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan where she received her Bachelor in Elementary Education. She married Giles te Velde while attending college and they now have five children (Gideon, Isaac, Esther, Josiah and Titus). She recognizes the importance of a covenant-believing church knowing that it takes the whole church to help raise her children. Charity appreciates the support of many volunteers who are all blessed through the ministry.
Covenant Kids
Covenant Kids meet Wednesday nights, September through May, from 6:30pm-8:00pm. Children ages 4 years old through fifth grade are welcome to attend. Our themes are on a four year rotation schedule:

Children’s Worship
Children’s Worship meets Sunday mornings during the sermon time of the worship service. All 4 year olds through first grade are welcome to come. This too is still a time of worship where we teach what it means to worship and how to worship. Children learn the meaning of what is taking place during the worship service so they will understand what they were created for: “To glorify God and enjoy Him forever.” (Westminster Shorter Catechism)
Kid’s Camp
Every year, our Covenant Kids spend 4 days at Summer Camp along with other kids from PCA churches in the area. This week is full of fun activities, a challenging speaker, and praise and worship.
